Overview
Embark on a sacred journey to two of the Panch Kedar shrines nestled in the mystical Garhwal Himalayas. The trek takes you through ancient Himalayan villages, dense forests, scenic alpine meadows and peaceful mountain landscapes. At Rudranath, Lord Shiva is worshipped in his face (mukh) form, making it one of the most revered Panch Kedar temples. Kalpeshwar is the only Panch Kedar temple accessible throughout the year, where the jata (locks) of Lord Shiva are worshipped — a perfect blend of spirituality, nature, adventure and Himalayan trekking.
Yatra Highlights
Day-wise Itinerary
Depart from Delhi around 11:00 PM in a luxury traveller for an overnight journey. Reach Rishikesh in the morning, then drive to Sagar Village (approximately 8–10 hours). Check into a guest house or homestay. Dinner and overnight stay at Sagar Village.
Early morning breakfast, then start trekking from Sagar Village. Trek distance: 10–12 km through dense forests and scenic Himalayan landscapes. Reach Lyiti Bugyal by evening and stay in camps or basic lodges (subject to availability), enjoying panoramic mountain views. Overnight stay.
Early morning trek continuing via Pitradhar. Trek distance: 8–10 km. Reach Rudranath Temple and attend the evening Aarti. Overnight stay in a camp or basic lodge near the temple.
Morning Darshan at Rudranath, then trek back via Panar Bugyal, descending to Sagar Village. Reach by evening. Overnight stay.
Drive to Urgam Village and take Darshan at Kalpeshwar Temple. Around 4:00 PM, board the traveller and begin the return journey to Delhi, reaching late at night (depending on traffic and departure time).
